Jennifer Hudson makes a sublime come back to music with the arrival of her new single, “Weight Down.” Earlier this year she gave a first taste of what is to accompany the arrival of a buzz track titled “Recollect Me,” and it appears like the hitmaker is increasing the stakes this time around. It has been a long time since the 36-year-old discharged her last studio collection, JHUD, yet she compensates for lost time with a taking off number. Discharged today (December 12), the single is one of her most legit and striking to date.
“I’m a stream. I continue running on. I’m a column you got used to inclining toward. Underneath there’s a man. I’m a lady, and I’m harming. Also I have a feeling that I’m holding up the world,” she concedes over basic keys on the opening line. Subsequent to being solid for so long her voice reverberates with torment as she concedes that she needs somebody to intervene and give sweet help.
Characterized by a basic creation, the track works to a crescendo and closures with an a cappella execution that is really stunning. “Would i be able to lay this weight down? Would you be able to take it up for me. When you run me in the ground that is the day you will see. For everything I’ve done in solitude, only for a minute please would I be able to not be solid? Wish I knew how, how to lay this weight down.”
The going with music video is a basic yet shocking issue. Coordinated by Sam Lecca, it highlights dazzling lighting and stunning cinematography while featuring the track’s stark magnificence. Shining in a white outfit and hide stole, J Hud performs before a piano in a relinquished distribution center. The camera catches the crude feeling on the siren’s face, however its most suggestive minutes come as she forsakes the piano for the last a cappella run.
